City Government Encounter

On 12th November, the first day of the Sharing Cities Summit, is held in Disseny Hub the City Government Encounter: an opportunity for city representatives from around the globe to discuss new policies and propose actions regarding platform economy.

 

50 cities atend this encounter: Amsterdam, Athens, Atlanta, Almere, Bethlehem, Bilbao, Bologna, Buenos Aires, Bordeaux, Bristol, Eindhoven, el Prat de Llobregat, Fez, Ghent, Gothenburg, Grenoble, The Hague, Kobe, La Coruña, Lisboa, Madrid, Malmö, Maribor, Melbourne, Milan, Montreal, Montreuil, New York City, Paris, Prague, Seoul, Tel Aviv, Toronto, Umeå, Valencia, Vienna, San Francisco, Stockholm, Muscat, Sao Paulo, Santiago de Compostela, Singapur, Montelíbano, Taipei, Reykjavik, Rijswijk and Vitoria – Gasteiz.

Cities representatives explain their different approaches, sensitivities and priorities towards platform economy. Apart from debating about promoting platforms based on socially responsible models, the main objective of this encounter is to propose a Common Declaration of Principles and Commitments for Sharing Cities. The cities which agree on the principles proposed in the Declaration, also agree on implementing a common negotiation framework.
